SUMMARY:A Recipe for a Food Desert
DESCRIPTION:Description\n\n\n\nJoin Gethsemane United Methodist Church\, The Prince George’s County Food Equity Council\, The Capital Market\, Dreaming Out Loud\, and Focused Vision for a community and faith-based exploration of the policy decisions that create inequitable community designs and outcomes for low-income communities and communities of color through film. \nThis year’s theme\, A Recipe for a Food Desert\, places emphasis on the makings of food deserts/food apartheid\, and the political decisions that contribute to food insecurity and disparate health outcomes in the United States including residential segregation and industrial farm subsidies. Following the screening\, distinguished community and faith leaders will kick off a community conversation on what actions residents can take to advocate for more just food policies and systems. This event is FREE and OPEN to the Public.
