SUMMARY:Corporate Activism and Moral Responsibility
DESCRIPTION:Business leaders and their corporations are taking on increasing leadership in our democracy. On various issues (climate change\, health care policies\, LGBTQ laws\, etc) CEOs are speaking out and taking action in the public arena. This new era of conversation is driven in part by a millennial workforce demanding that their employers take a stand on fundamental issues\, and by consumers who increasingly want to purchase from companies that represent their values. What else drives this increased corporate engagement? As citizens\, what should we think and how should we respond? What critical spiritual and ethical questions does this activism inspire? Adi Ignatius\, editor-in-chief of Harvard Business Review\, moderates this conversation with special guest Howard Schultz\, most recently CEO of Starbucks\, and the Rev. Yolanda Pierce\, Dean of Howard Divinity School. \nAdmission- $15 \nWhen- Tuesday\, October 16th at 7pm
