Partake in our Bar Mitzvah service project: An international dinner prepared by refugee chefs, celebrating their experiences and foods.

June 23, 2019 @ 5:00 pm - 7:30 pm

$75

In honor of Jack and Parkers’ upcoming Bar Mitzvah, Breaking Bread Broadening Perspective will feature dinner by Foodhini, a catering company employing emerging immigrant and refugee chefs. Also, 734 Coffee, a coffee company owned and operated by Sudanese refugees, will be serving coffee and selling their beans. Refugee speakers will offer compelling perspectives on their immigrant experience.

Dinner will feature a multi-course menu from a variety of ethnicities – all prepared by refugee chefs from around the world.

In addition to supporting immigrant-owned businesses, proceeds from our event will go to The Asylum Seeker Assistance Project, promoting self-sufficiency among immigrant families in the Washington DC metro area.

Our Bar Mitzvah project was chosen to support refugees and asylum seekers who, like our family, came to the United States seeking safety. We believe the shared experience of food can break down cultural barriers.

If you cannot attend but want to contribute to our Bar Mitzvah project, please send your donation via Venmo @Andrea-Weinstein-2
