Creating the Whole Person: Faith and Mental Health Professionals Partner to Address Mental Illness

August 25, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm

In addressing faith and mental health, it is important that services to individuals with mental illness and their caregivers align with the training and skills held by faith leaders as well as mental health professionals. Mental health professionals and faith leaders benefit from working together and supporting each professionals’ respective expertise and training in order to promote wellness for people experiencing mental illness and their caregivers.

Principles 4 and 5 in the Compassion in Action Guide emphasize the importance of mental health professionals and faith leaders working together to provide support for the treatment of people with mental illness. This webinar will describe how faith leaders can make effective referrals to mental health professionals as well as outline projects that are bringing together faith and mental health leaders to address clients’ mental health and spiritual needs.

Compassion in Action Webinar Series: Action Steps by Faith Communities to Address Mental Illness**

The Compassion in Action Webinar Series will describe ways faith and community groups are addressing the needs of people with mental illness and their caregivers. Through the Compassion in Action Guide and this webinar series, we hope to encourage more faith communities to walk with and provide community for a lifetime to people with mental illness and their caregivers. All previous webinars are available at YouTube at www.youtube.com/hhspartnershipcenter.
