Event Navigation
Join us for the Mayor’s Office on Asian and Pacific Islander Affairs (MOAPIA)’s annual Diwali Celebration, co-hosted with Hindus for Human Rights, as we honor the rich cultures, traditions, and diversity of Indian American and South Asian American communities across Washington, DC. Enjoy an evening of Indian classical music and dance performances, remarks from community and faith leaders representing diverse South Asian traditions, and a special diya (lamp) lighting ceremony celebrating the spirit of Diwali.
Explore community and craft tables, connect with local organizations and DC agencies, and enjoy food and refreshments from a local South Asian restaurant. Bring your family and friends for an evening of culture, connection, and community as we celebrate the Festival of Lights together. We look forward to seeing you there!
