An Interfaith Panel Discussion: Moral Complexity and Discernment In Times of Conflict

July 23 @ 12:00 pm

Register here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/Eh3Xvq3KSaeyGJZDEed1-Q

This interfaith panel brings together many speakers from different traditions to explore how discernment is practiced within their own religious and ethical frameworks in situations of moral complexity. Building on the themes of the series, it examines how specific teachings, practices, and forms of guidance shape responses to uncertainty, competing obligations, and the limits of clear moral judgement. Rather than seeking definitive answers, the session invites participants to consider how discernment might move beyond binary thinking and enable more reflective and responsible engagement in complex and contested contexts.

Panelists:
Dr Jim Newby (Christian perspective)
Rabbi Dr Gary Zola (Jewish perspective)
Dr Shakila T. Ahmad (Muslim perspective)
Dr Raj Bhatnagar (Hindu perspective)

Moderators:
Dr Geneva Blackmer
Amy Fraler

* Please note, this conversation reflects the lived experiences and personal perspectives of the panelists. No individual represents the full diversity of any Faith tradition.
