On September 18–19, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture will bring Hometown Treasures: Capital Region to the historic Scotland community in Potomac, Maryland.

During this free two-day event, community members are invited to bring cherished family items, including photographs, letters, quilts, clothing, records, military memorabilia, and other heirlooms for a one-on-one review with a preservation professional.
