Monthly Sema & Sufi Dance

December 14, 2025 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

What is a Sema? A Participatory Event of Shared Rumi Poetry, Sacred Chants  and easily learned Sufi Circle Dances… If we have Farsi readers, we’ll read in both English and Farsi [Rumi’s Persian language]. We’ll provide Poetry sheets or bring favorite pieces of Rumi, Hafiz, Khalil Gibran or other Sacred poetry.
DECEMBER:   December 14th heralds the first night of Hanukkah – symbolically the Miracle of Light.  The evening of December 17th  is the Rumi “Urs” [The Wedding Feast celebrating the passing of the Sufi Saint & his Reunion with his “Beloved.”]    The Winter Solstice arrives on December 21st  – like Christmas, celebrating the birth of Light from Darkness.
