We’re delighted to extend an invitation to a most curious and enchanting celebration: the (second) Bar Mitzvah of our dear Jewish fellow, Austen. This year, he is turning 31, but in the looking glass, this number peculiarly resembles 13! So tumble down the rabbit hole and join us in Wonderland, where whimsy and wonder abound, as we celebrate Austen and learn more about this important rite of passage!

At the beginning of the celebration, we’ll learn about the traditions and ceremony of becoming a Bar Mitzvah and maybe hear a bit about coming of age customs in other religious traditions. You’re invited to partake in a fantastical adventure, where the boy becomes a man, where the ordinary becomes extraordinary and the extraordinary becomes, well, even more extraordinary!

 

After Austen becomes a man (again), the party begins! You won’t want to miss the Hora Wonderland Dance Extravaganza – join hands and hearts as we dance the hora with infectious delight, celebrating Austen”s second Bar Mitzvah milestone with lively steps and spirited circles. Join in joyous games curated by the Chai-shire Cat! Delight in mitzvah-themed puzzles and games that will have you shouting “Mazel Tov!” with each victorious twist and turn. Embark on a tea party celebration like no other, presided over by the Mad Hatter! Unwind with a teacup, engage in Torah discussions, and toast to Austen’s journey into Jewish adulthood.
