Together at the Edge: Buddhist Wisdom for Climate Change

September 14, 2019 @ 9:30 am - 5:30 pm

Does news of the growing climate crisis and loss of nature bring up feelings of fear, anger, despair, or an urge to seek distraction? Do you wonder how you can show up for our planet and what insight meditation practice and Buddhist teachings offer for doing so? Climate change and related ecological crises present an unprecedented civilizational challenge, from how societies are organized to our own human psyche. Yet through mindfulness and skillful application of Dharma, we can work with our mind, emotions, and actions to face the climate crisis with bravery and compassion.

Join One Earth Sangha founder Kristin Barker and The Arrow editor Gabe Dayley for this one-day workshop to hold our experience of the climate crisis with kindness and to explore how Buddhist wisdom can help us act skillfully. In the context of mindful community, we’ll apply practices that will nourish the seeds of robust and meaningful response to climate change, deepening our connection with the preciousness of interdependent life.
