Opening Ceremony: 2:15-2:45pm

This year’s Opening Ceremony will feature The Voice Gospel Choir from George Washington University as well as blessings and reflections from the Jewish, Sikh, Catholic, Buddhist faiths and as well as from community leaders.

Planned Activities: A tour of the church, informal conversations with lay leaders and clergy, and Beyond Tolerance: Building a Just Community (IFC speed dialogues) 3:15-3:45 (Each dialogue session will last 15 minutes)

Planned Activities: A tour of the church and Peace, Salaam, Shalom: An Uplifting Children’s Interfaith Encounter through Story and Song. (IFC family program, Ages 3+), 3:30-4pm

Planned Activities: Gas leak tagging with Interfaith Power & Light (DC.MD.NoVA), 3-5:30pm
Come visit the Interfaith Council’s grassroots climate program, Interfaith Power & Light, to test for gas leaks yourself with a methane detector, and to learn more about how we all can begin turning away from burning fossil fuels, and work together for a clean energy future in the DMV. 

How to stay true to your faith, and your personal journey (Session 1) and The role of religion as a teenager (Session 2). (IFC teen-run dialogues, age 13+) 3:30-4:30pm

Planned Activities: Tour of the church, informal conversations with clergy and lay volunteers, and an interfaith comedy show with performers from Interfaith Comedy , 4-4:40pm  (Each show will last 20 minutes.) Click here to learn more about the performers.

Islamic Center of Washington, DC

Planned Activities: Tour of the mosque and short reflections offered by Imam Talib Shareef and Director Abbasi

*Closing Ceremony: 5:30-6pm
United Hindu and Jain Temples (hosted by the Indian Consulate) 2536 Massachusetts Ave NW
The Closing Ceremony will feature reflections from representatives of the Hindu, Jain, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Zoroastrian, and Baha’i faiths as well as a performance by Mosaic Harmony. There will also be savory and sweet treats for all walkers!

*The ADAMS Center has generously donated shuttle buses to take walkers from the Indian Consulate ack to Washington Hebrew Congregation in a loop. You are welcome to park your car near the synagogue and then pick it up again at the end of the walk.
