Dialogue in an Age of Social Media

May 3 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm

We live in a time of extreme polarization. How is social media impacting our ability to dialogue? Is it helping us better understand different voices, or driving us into narrow and often hateful bubbles? JIDS will focus on these issues with the help of renowned expert, Dr. Sahar Khamis, Assoc. Professor, University of Maryland and co-author of Islam Dot Com: Contemporary Islamic Discourses in Cyberspace. This event will take place on May 3rd from 2-4pm at Temple Emaunel. Please RSVP to www.jids.washington@gmail.com.
