Ecumenical / Interfaith Call to Prayer: COVID-19

August 28, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - August 29, 2020 @ 7:00 pm

A CALL TO REPENTANCE AND PRAYER:
A Lament for God’s Mercy and Deliverance From COVID-19 Worldwide
An Ecumenical Invitation.

“Sanctify a fast, call a solemn assembly. Gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land to the house of the LORD your God, and cry out to the LORD.” -Joel 1:14 (NRSV)

Let us come together across cultures, origins, and denominations (and non-denominations) in a 24-hour period of solemnity, fasting, and prayer before the LORD (by the many names by which we call God). Let us be of one accord during this time, “rending our hearts” and souls with mourning and weeping for the great loss of life, and suffering that this disease continues to cause here in the United States of America and throughout the world. We pray for God’s mercy, forgiveness and deliverance from this pandemic.

Date: Fri. 8/28/20, 7 p.m. – Sat. 8/29/20, 7 p.m.
Place: Wherever you find yourself during this time, be it alone, with family,
with friends, or with strangers.

* The focus here is not on physically gathering the community, rather the key is to come together in heart, mind and spirit. If you are interested in participating please email Angela, at [email protected]. Further details and information to be provided. Please spread the word to as many as possible! All faiths are welcomed! Thank you, Blessings & Peace!
