January Conversation Club and Shabbat Dinner

January 26 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

We welcome you to join Abrahamic House DC for our January Shabbat Conversation Club – where we gather for a meal to discuss issues that matter.

This month, we will be discussing capital punishment. The death penalty has long been a subject of intense debate, raising ethical, moral, and legal questions. Our conversation club aims to provide a space for individuals with diverse perspectives to come together, share their thoughts, and engage in a respectful and open dialogue. Our goal is to foster understanding, encourage critical thinking, and create an environment where participants can express their opinions while respecting the views of others.

In advance of our discussion, we will provide articles sharing diverging perspectives on the topic. Whether you are well-versed in the subject or approaching it for the first time, your insights will contribute to the richness of our discussion. We believe that by exchanging ideas and listening to different perspectives, we can gain a deeper understanding of this complex issue.

These small discussions intentionally have a limited attendance to promote meaningful dialogue. If you would like to attend this event, please share a bit about your interest in the subject. We will be curating the discussion to prioritize a balance of perspectives and approaches. We will notify you by the Wednesday the week of the event if we can accommodate you.
