JIDS Dialogue with the Parents Circle Family Forum

July 15 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

8215 Old Georgetown Road
Bethesda, MD 20814

JIDS is sponsoring an event called “Listening from the Heart: An Evening with the Parents Circle.” The Parents Circle Family Forum is a grassroots organization of Palestinian and Israeli families who have lost immediate family members due to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict but have decided to come together and work for peace by sharing their personal experiences and encouraging reconciliation. Consistent with that mission, the American Friends of the Parents Circle (AFPC) has put together a program entitled “Listening from the Heart,” involving a combination of (a) showing videos in which Parents Circle members tell their stories and (b) walking attendees through a guided exercise in active listening and compassion building. JIDS has heard wonderful things about this program, and we think it will pay dividends in building peacemaking skills for anyone who attends. This particular session will be facilitated by AFPC’s Development and Communications Manager, Lior Ben-Zvi.

JIDS hopes to see you there. RSVPs for this event should be sent to [email protected]
