On February 22nd, from 3:00-5:30 pm., at Congregation Beth El, 8215 Old Georgetown Rd., Bethesda, MD 20814, JIDS will present: “Why are Moderate Voices So Impotent and Extremist Voices So Powerful? — A Look at Israel/Palestine and Beyond.” To help guide the discussion, we will hear from two renowned experts on the Middle East: Nizar Farsakh, a Lecturer of International Affairs at George Washington University who formerly directed the Palestinian Delegation in Washington DC; and Rabbi Marc Gopin, director of the Center for World Religions, Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution at George Mason University. Their presentations will be followed by a Q&A, and ample time for small group discussions. The session will be moderated by Ari Roth, an experienced peace builder and a renowned theatrical producer and playwright.
