July 4 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Event Navigation
Faith250 (https://faith250.org/) is a national program engaging hundreds of congregations in dozens of multifaith clusters beginning right here in Northern Virginia. The local Reston/Herndon cluster will be hosting a celebration of July 4th at Floris United Methodist Church. The event will begin with a civic ritual created by a multi-faith group of congregations, which includes a review of our local history, songs, poetry, quotations from famous American documents, and an opportunity for each participant to express their hopes for America’s future. Then, we will gather for creative arts, service projects, activities, and opportunities to build up local civic life. This is our community’s way to mark this momentous national milestone. All are welcome, and this activity is appropriate for all ages. (Please register at tinyurl.com/reston-herndon-faith250 and come dressed comfortably–from picnic shorts to business casual.)
