Many Faiths. One Freedom. Church and State from the Founders to Our Own Neighborhoods

November 15 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

Please join JIDS for an event that will ask questions such as: What did America’s founders intend regarding religious liberty and the role of faith in civic life?  How are their views reflected in the Constitution and the First Amendment?  And from the founding to today, how has the national conversation on faith, government, and religious freedom evolved?   At a time when prominent speakers increasingly suggest that “America is a Christian country,” JIDS believes it is essential for the JIDS community to educate itself on America’s commitment to religious liberty and government neutrality with respect to religion.

The featured speaker at this event will be Prof. John Farina, Assoc. Prof. of Religion and Society, Religion and Law, and American Religious History at George Mason University.  As always at JIDS events, small-group discussions will give everyone an opportunity to speak and listen.

We look forward to seeing you on November 15th for this important discussion!
