Interfaith Action for Human Rights Town Hall Meeting

Rally for Peace

With rising acts of anti-Semitism in our community, bomb threats against Bowie State, and war in Ukraine, we cannot stay silent. Rally Against Poverty

The Poor People’s Campaign will release its groundbreaking study on the impact of the pandemic on the 140 million poor and low-income people in the United States. Following the study release, there will be a rally, speeches and a march with interfaith clergy, faith leaders, poor and low-wage workers to demand that this nation address the issues of poverty in DC and across the country.  We encourage as many people to attend that morning.  Location: Freedom Plaza

  What: The EDCJCC and Project Affinity are partnering for a morning of interfaith conversation and volunteering! Join our Muslim neighbors at Project Affinity to share ways our traditions both mandate serving others and then work together to pack lunches and toiletry kits for folks experiencing homelessness. After we make the lunches and toiletry kits we will travel to a park near the JCC to pass them out to people experiencing homelessness.

Little Amal is a 12-foot puppet of a 10-year-old Syrian refugee girl who has traveled across 15 countries meeting more than a million people.  This fall, between 7 September and 5 November 2023, she will journey 6,000 miles across the United States in one of the largest free public festivals ever created.
