Displaced Kitchens Iftar
This Ramadan, Komeeda is bringing its heralded Displaced Kitchens series to one of the District’s most distinguished Middle Eastern outposts. Mama Ayesha and Komeeda will be giving a recently-resettled refugee the opportunity to take center stage and share their story and their culture through their food this high holy month. One Journey Festival
An all-day festival held on the front lawn of the Washington National Cathedral in the District of Columbia. It will connect participants through the shared languages of humanity: art, fashion, food, music & dance from the countries that today’s refugees originally called home. Celebrities will perform with refugee chefs, musicians, and fashion designers. Our key message is that refugees are vital to our society. Join us on June 5, 2018, for our annual interfaith Iftar in DC! We will begin at 7:30 pm (doors open at 7:15) with a short program prior to breaking fast, then will share a meal over conversation with one another. Sikh Kid 2 Kid is a youth organization that started in 2012 in the aftermath of the Oak Creek Wisconsin Sikh temple shootings.
