Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution, George Mason University Fall Peace Week
Peacemaking and Peacebuilding in a Fragmented World In 2020, the Carter School launched an initiative to bring together the Carter School community and the broader public in dialogue about peace, conflict resolution, and justice. Join Congressman Jared Huffman, founder of the Congressional Freethought Caucus, for a timely conversation on his new book, No Prophets: Saving Democracy from Christian Nationalism, featuring AU Humanist Community Leader Miranda Hovemeyer and moderated by Rev. Eric Doolittle, University Chaplain and Director of The Kay Spiritual Life Center. Thursday, September 24th, 7–9 PM, American University School of International Service Founders Room. Copies of the book will be sold at the event, and Congressman Huffman will be available to sign them. The Fairfax County Police Department is partnering with SHARE of McLean to help address food insecurity in our area. In addition to the Balls Hill Station, donations can be brought to SHARE, located in the back of McLean Baptist Church, 1367 Chain Bridge Road. McLean Community Rise Against Event
Saturday, November 7, 2026. Three Shifts: 8:00 am; 11:00 am; 2:00 pm. This year it is possible that we will reach four million meals packaged since our first event in 2010!
