With a heavy heart but with faith that “we will overcome” we are sorry to announce that the 2020 Vision for Justice: Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Annual Celebration originally scheduled for April, 2020 will be postponed to a time when we can gather together in joy and wholeness. The tentative date for the “2020 (+1) Vision for Justice program will be April 11, 2021.
We are especially disappointed since we were looking forward to the inspiring presence and powerful words of our guest speaker, Congressman John Lewis. With God’s help we hope that Rev. Lewis will be able to join us next year. He has offered to address us briefly via a video message in the coming days so please look forward to this. Here is a recent informal photo with Rev. Lewis together with 2020 Vision for Justice organizer, NJ Mitchell.
We know that the musicians, dancers, youth choir, tech crew, and Dr. Martin L. King Jr. Humanitarian Youth Award recipients were also looking forward to celebrate with us this year and we expect that all the work they put in will still be part of the program next year. We bow to the much higher cause of preserving and protecting life and we pray for health and safety of all and pray for the blessing of healing for all those suffering at this time.
