This year, Passover ends on April 16th and Ramadan begins on April 23rd.   JIDS would like to fill some of the void in between.   On the afternoon of Sunday April 19th from 2:00-3:30 p.m., we will present a dialogue on Zoom entitled: “Between Passover and Ramadan – A JIDS Special.”   

The dialogue will feature several prepared personal reflections, followed by an opportunity for everyone in this virtual chat to give personal reflections of their own.   We will be reflecting on why Passover (if you are Jewish) or Ramadan (if you are Muslim) is so meaningful to each of us and how we would relate the importance of this holiday to the crisis that is engulfing human beings around the world.   We hope that during the next two weeks, you will explore the connections between these holidays and the scourge of COVID-19 and be prepared to share your perspective with the JIDS community.   What we are looking for most of all is the willingness to speak from the heart – about Passover, about Ramadan, and about the virus that is taking such a profound toll on so many aspects of our lives.
