Walk the Walk: Faith Pilgrimage for Racial Reckoning, Resolve, and Love

August 20, 2020 - August 28, 2020

White supremacy and anti-Blackness permeate our past and present as a nation and as faith institutions. To bring attention and action to this, Faith in Action* has organized Walk the Walk, a call to faith leaders to RECKON with and repent of personal and structural racism, white supremacy, and anti-Blackness; RESOLVE to advance racial justice in our faith traditions and nation; and REFRAME the faith narrative in this nation as we approach the 2020 election.

This pilgrimage of racial reckoning, resolve, and love emerges from a declaration that white clergy and faith leaders developed in June to take responsibility for our role in uprooting white supremacy and anti-blackness in our lives, faith institutions, and our nation. We are moving in accountability to black and brown faith leaders, and welcome all who would like to participate in this act of reckoning, including BIPOC clergy and faith leaders.

Clergy marchers in the pilgrimage will start in Charlottesville this Thu., Aug. 20, and march for 9 days to Washington, DC. There are many opportunities for CAN members in NoVA and the DC Metro area to be part of this event.

Please see the links provided below with more information on different kinds of participation, itinerary, and registration.
